An overwhelming incident came in light when newly elected Congress President Rahul Gandhi took to his Twitter account and sent a "big hug" to a 107-year-old woman and also wished her Merry Christmas.

In a tweet, Bangalore-based woman Dipali Sikand wrote that her grandmother, who turned 107 today, had a wish to meet Rahul Gandhi, whom she found as "handsome". I asked her why?

The Congress president gave a "big hug" to the birthday girl on twitter and called her to wish her personally. After constant pressure from the party members, and chief proposers Sonia Gandhi and former prime minister Manmohan Singh, Rahul on December 04, 2017 filed his nomination papers for the post of Congress president.

The new Congress president Rahul Gandhi extensively campaigning in Gujarat ahead of the state elections, and while the party was not able to secure a majority in the state considered to be a stronghold of the BJP, the Congress managed to win an impressive 77 seats, largely credited to Rahul Gandhi's efforts. "Each one of them matter", Dipali tweeted.

Gandhi has 5.22 million followers on Twitter.
