Agent WR Allen Robinson talks potential fit with Bears, 49ers

The Chicago Bears needed to get Mitchell Trubuisky weapons this offseason, and look to have secured the top receiver in free agency as they are expected to sign Allen Robinson. The Bears already have a stable starting quarterback in Mitchell Trubisky, but they still need to surround him with more weapons to make him more unsafe. The following year saw Robinson catch 73 passes for 883 yards and six scores.

Robinson, 24, is coming off a year in which he played one game for the jaguars, unfortunately tearing his ACL in Week 1 against the Houston Texans. After that, restricted free agents who earn tenders are only allowed to negotiate with the franchise they played for this past season. Robinson is considered one of the best receivers in recent seasons to hit the open market because players of his caliber and age are usually kept via the franchise tag. At first glance, this contract seems right for Robinson who has to prove he can rebound from the injury, while also showing that he is closer to the 2015 version than the one in 2016 who averaged 5.4 fewer yards per catch.

Robinson will walk into an immediate No. 1 role with the Bears, who are now project to start Robinson and Kevin White on the perimeter, with Cameron Meredith in the slot.

The Bears certainly aren't done adding at receiver.

Trubisky lacked a big, reliable target - or any target really - in his rookie season.

Mourinho unrepentant in Manchester style wars
The midfielder missed the 2-1 win over Liverpool on Saturday after suffering an injury in training on Friday. United are in a good run of form this season, and they seem to be getting hotter at the flawless time.

Aside from Akiem Hicks, Pace's free-agent signings leave much to be desired.

This signing will be tied directly to the evaluation of Pace in his fourth season with his second head coach and a 14-34 record. Jeffery left to become a Super Bowl champ in free agency.

But the guy who should've been the Bears' first priority is Sammy Watkins because he would've given the Bears something they don't have: A receiver with separation speed.

Bottom line, you don't bring in a player like Robinson to be a decoy.
