Browns making 'big run' at Nate Solder

In addition to growing his popular ThomaHawk Show podcast, which he co-hosts alongside former Browns wide receiver Andrew Hawkins, Thomas has reportedly auditioned for broadcasting roles with national media outlets this offseason - something he didn't deny to WKYC last week.

Thomas has been quite vocal with his support of the Browns adding Tyrod Taylor, Jarvis Landry and Damarious Randall in recent days, so perhaps that is an indication he's leaning on returning. Ebner suffered a knee injury in November that prematurely ended his 2017 season. The Patriots made him the 17th pick of the 2011 draft. He moved to left tackle his second season and protected Patriot quarterback Tom Brady's blind side the last six years. The Browns were $113 million under the salary cap before their recent flurry of transactions.

Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald reports that Solder prefers to stay with the Patriots, but is prepared to leave if New England's offer isn't competitive with the other offers he receives in free agency.

The Houston Texans also want to sign Solder, according to reports. NY had its heart set on Andrew Norwell, but he signed with Jacksonville.

The Browns are just the latest team to be connected to Solder.

Case Keenum To Sign With Denver Broncos
After reaching the peak of Super Bowl 50 two years ago, the Broncos have sunk on the heels of two playoffless seasons. When you get opportunities like this, you've got to take advantage of them, so we're going to take advantage of it".

According to Spotrac, Solder could command up to $13.2 million a year in his new contract. After getting the OK from trainers he has been in the Browns facility nearly daily, working out as much as he can while going through injury rehab.

"I've seen him putting (weight) back on now here recently, but he's Joe", Browns coach Hue Jackson told reporters at the Combine earlier this month.

"I think the future is really bright", Thomas said.

The New England Patriots will presumably make a strong effort to bring Solder back, but they'll have plenty of competition.

The Browns were 10-6 in Thomas' rookie year.
