Charlotte Vs Asuka Gets Endorsement From Hall of Famer

This was the final SmackDown Live pay-per-view leading up to WrestleMania 34. I'll save my analysis of that for another column.

John Cena, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Baron Corbin and Dolph Ziggler will compete against Styles for the blue brand's top title.

But maybe tonight's not the night for either Styles or Cena.

My only real issue here was that the match never really got going, with the finish, despite being well executed, just coming "outta nowhere".

Because of SmackDown's relatively limited two-hour format, however, a lot of the Fastlane card is a little half-baked. The team of Natalya and Carmella beat Becky Lynch and Naomi in an average effort. While WWE may very well be discussing a return to the company with Rey, I doubt that a match against Cena is a serious consideration for the show. After winning a six-pack challenge at Fastlane, it has now been set in stone that WWE Champion AJ Styles will defend the title against Shinsuke Nakamura at WrestleMania.

This now also means that AJ Styles will now face Shinsuke Nakamura, who bested Rusev in a fantastic opener to the main show, at WrestleMania with the WWE Title on the line.

Hah, I guess I called this one too.

Kenyan opposition suspends "People's Assembly" after rivals meet
Mudavadi, Kalonzo (Wiper) and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang'ula (Ford Kenya) said they were not aware this would happen. The fourth party is ODM, whose leader is Raila.

Of all the matches on the card, this one feels the most unpredictable.

The United States and SmackDown Tag Team Championship pictures aren't as clear. Though, I do think that Carmella is going to remind us that she is Ms. Money in the Bank.

Nakamura also built momentum heading into WrestleMania when he pinned Rusev after connecting with a Kinshasa knee strike. Rusev appeared to have the match won late after Nakamura walked into a Machka Kick for two. An Orton win gave him that elusive championship - you know, because he doesn't have enough of those - and avoided the expected Jinder Mahal interference ending. However, with the latest move of the Japanese, it looks like Charlotte will be the one, who will have her work cut out to end Auska's unbeaten run in the WWE.

Flair picked up a strong win over Riott in a good match which saw both competitors' back-up groups ejected from ringside.

Asuka then silently challenged Flair by pointing to the WrestleMania sign, meaning Raw champion Alexa Bliss now does not have an opponent for the big event in New Orleans next month.

Last year, the Usos and the New Day had the best rivalry of the year.

If we weren't already, Fastlane all but guarantees a Six-Man Tag at WrestleMania for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships.
