Hotshot filmmaker, Karan Johar is a busy man with a line-up of projects being produced by his Dharma Productions.

"At Hiroo Johars 75th birthday party yesterday, Johar uploaded a picture on Instagram with Kajol standing next to him and captioned it, "#friendslikefamily" with heart emojis. So, when he chose to celebrate 75th birthday of his mother Hiroo, he made sure that she had her favourite people with her and together they made the evening grand. Stars like Kajol, Rani Mukerji, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sidharth Malhotra, Manish Malhotra, Niranjan Iyengar were among those who were present for the celebrations. Check out the picture here.

The celebration was at a Bandra five-star, decorated with Hiroo Johar's favourite flowers, a profusion of pink and purple, but the celebrations had already begun the previous night as a cake was cut at Karan's residence to the birthday song at the stroke of midnight. Even the cake had floral icing.The menu for the brunch comprised Chinese and Indian dishes carefully chosen keeping Mrs Johar's choices in mind.

Earlier, a source had informed to a leading daily about this surprise party saying, "On the guest list is Waheeda Rehman, Neetu Kapoor, Rani Mukerji, Rima Jain, Gauri Khan, Jaya Bachchan with daughter Shweta, Varun Dhawan's mother Karuna, Shobha and Ekta Kapoor, socialite Natasha Poonawala, among others". The guest said that singer Zarir Warden of One Empire band performed Hiroo's favourite Elvis Presley hits while Sonu Nigam kept the revelers entertained for an hour, cajoling Waheeda, Honey Irani, Shabana and Javed to join him on stage. "Hiroo loves Hindi film songs and Sonu was marvellous". "I know her largely through him".
