Joy Behar, who mocked Vice President's Mike Pence's Christian faith and then resisted apologizing, has now done so. "It's another thing when Jesus talks to you", Ms. Behar said. It's another thing when Jesus talks to you. "Specifically, do you think, like Mrs. Hostin and Mrs. Behar, that the Christian faith is akin to a risky mental illness?" Behar made a joke implying that Pence was mentally ill for saying he communicated with Jesus. They both talked about how they were raised Roman Catholic, he said, and mentioned that Pence told Behar that he was confirmed in the church, taking the name "Christopher".

While Pence forgave Behar, he encouraged her to publically apologize. "She called me. She was very honest, and she apologized and one of the things my faith teaches me is grace; forgive as you've been forgiven".

"I sincerely apologize for what I said", Behar added.

"First of all, Joy Behar apologized to Vice President Pence directly", Iger answered. He emphasized that The View's deriding his Christianity is "an insult not to me, but to the vast majority of the American people who like me cherish their faith". "But I felt it was important that I defend the faith of tens of millions of Americans against that kind of slander".

She later said she was joking, but Pence said the remarks were "wrong" and it was later revealed by Disney CEO Bob Iger that she telephoned Pence to express contrition for her comments.

Explosion reported near Palestinian PM's convoy during Gaza visit
The attack could adversely affect the ongoing process of reconciliation between Hamas and the Fatah, which was brokered by Egypt. Neither Hamdallah nor Faraj were among those injured in the incident, and the Prime Minister continued his schedule as planned.

Brent Bozell of the Media Research Center, which urged Christians to write and call ABC, said Behar's private phone apology is inadequate.

The apology was reportedly confirmed by Fox News. "She made a call to him and apologized, which I thought was absolutely appropriate".

"You and I know that criticism comes with public life", Pence explained to Hannity.

"I said to Joy, of course I forgive you, it's part of my faith experience", he continued. He added that he was glad she apologized and that he "takes exception" to the comments.
