The Lenovo S5 is available in 3 GB / 4 GB RAM and 32 GB / 64 GB internal storage variants. The latest addition to the K-series of devices seems to be the budget variants of the Lenovo S5. All three models are up for registrations and will go on sale from Friday, March 23.

The Lenovo S5 runs on Android 8.0 Oreo with ZUI 3.7 skin on top. The Lenovo S5 has a compact 5.7 inch display, whereas the Redmi Note 5 has a 5.99 inch display with identical 2160 x 1080px FHD+ resolution. Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core SoC, which is about a year old, but known for offering a right balance between power and efficiency. This machined metal slab comes in three memory configurations: 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage for about $157; 3GB/64GB for $189 and; 4GB/128GB for $236. Additionally, the device comes with a microSD card slot for storage expansion.

Coming to the camera department, the phone features a dual camera setup at the back, consisting of a 13-megapixel primary camera lens with f/2.0 aperture and a 5-megapixel secondary lens with f/2.2 aperture. The Lenovo S5 rocks a decent 16MP selfie camera and the camera app has real-time beauty mode powered by Artificial Intelligence. This metal-clad phone is backed by a 3000mAh battery, not the rumoured 6000mAh unit. Connectivity features onboard include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and Global Positioning System. It measures 153.75 x 72.60 x 7.85 (height x width x thickness) and weigh 155.00 grams. It will be made available in Red and Black color options.

Two other smartphones, the Lenovo K5 and K5 Lite, were unveiled by the company. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6750V processor.

In terms of performance, the Redmi Note 5 Pro is once again ahead of the Lenovo S5 on paper, as it has a more powerful Snapdragon 636 processor. It offers 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The rear camera as dual tone LED flash. For the front, both the devices are equipped with 8-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. The Lenovo K5 comes with a 3,000 mAh battery whereas the Lenovo K5 Lite is powered by a 3,030 mAh battery. On the connectivity front, the Lenovo K5 and K5 Lite feature 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, micro USB port and dual-SIM support.
