Shami has been slapped with non-bailable charges of domestic abuse and attempt to murder by Kolkata police following an official complaint by his wife.

Shami and Jahan got married in 2014. And interestingly, Dhoni has given his statement is in support of Shami. She said Shami had been in contact with multiple women and had been cheating on her regularly.

Before this, she had alleged that Mohammed Shami has been involved in extramarital affairs in India as well as overseas.

Investigating into Jahan's claims that Shami had stayed back in Dubai, the police have sent a letter to the cricket governing body regarding the information of Shami's route for his last match to South Africa.

The case was registered under non-bailable sections 307 (attempt to murder), 498-A (subjecting a woman to cruelty), 376 (punishment for rape), 323 (causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation).

In yet another shocking revelation, Mohammad Shami's wife has now imposed another major allegation on her husband. "There have been many accusations which are increasing day by day".

After his defeat, a bemused Djokovic said: "It felt like the first match I have ever played on the tour, very weird ". On his highly-anticipated return to the tour after right elbow surgery , Djokovic looked a shadow of his former self.

"I am exhausted of repeating myself again and again".

He said, "As far as the allegation of compromising my performance playing for the country is concerned, I would rather die than do something like this". If Shami has done something like this then it is unacceptable and disgraceful.

Shami said he is hopeful of resolving the issue soon and demanded a thorough probe into the matter. I told him to stop all these but he ignored. "I am ready to talk, whenever she wants".

On match fixing charges, he had said, "I will prefer to die than involved in such anti-national act". However, Dhoni didn't say much and he said that he will not speak much on this issue as it is related to Shami's personal life.

Talking about the on-going controversy, Chauhan said it is his personal matter and it has nothing to do with cricket and Indian cricket board (BCCI) should not withhold his contract. "Only a patch up will do good for us and our daughter".
