Singer Aditya Narayan arrested for rash driving; released on bail

Adtiya was booked under IPC 279 and 338 for rash and negligent driving and he was let out after being granted a bail and levied a fine of Rs 10000 the same night.

As per Aditya's version of events, he was driving to work in his Mercedes Benz, when he collided with an auto as it was taking a U-turn opposite Indralok building at Lokhandwala Back Road.

News agency ANI tweeted, "Singer Aditya Narayan was detained by Versova police station after he hit a rickshaw at Andheri s Lokhandwala circle earlier today". The autorickshaw driver sustained head injuries and is being treated at a local hospital while the passenger sustained several injuries.

This is not the first time when the singer has made the headlines in the year 2017, Aditya Narayan grabbed headlines for abusing IndiGo airline staffer at Raipur airport after not being allowing excess baggage of 40 kg. Besides them, Aditya too sustained minor injuries. He was later released on bail. According to reports, however, onlookers during the accident claim that Narayan jumped into action immediately and rushed the victims to the hospital.

Aditya, son of celebrated singer Udit Narayan, took the injured woman to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital for treatment, the official added. Both the rickshaw driver and the passenger were injured in the incident. DCP Zone 9, Paramjit Singh Dahiya, said, "He (Aditya) was arrested in the matter, and investigations are on". Reports also have it that police officials did enquire on the matter at Andheri where locals asserted that the man who was driving got out of the vehicle to help the victims.
