They have truly been clicking on all cylinders. The Cavaliers were a one seed when they lost in the Final Four to North Carolina in 1981. "It's a fight you have to have inside of you or you're not going to be successful at this level".

Even after Matthew Moyer's demotion from the starting lineup, Bourama Sidibe finished the season in a distant seventh on the team in minutes played (12.7 per game in 26 games). The one loss was a 1-point decision in overtime to its in-state rival, Virginia Tech. There's something to be said about that. That's Virginia in a nutshell; the Cavaliers do what they do, and they don't deviate from what Bennett has instilled in them.

But we do come by it honestly in North Carolina.

"That's what I think sets this team apart".

Obviously a more efficient night on Saturday night. Kyvon Davenport had 12 points and 11 rebounds for Memphis (21-13), which is hoping for an invitation to the NIT. The senior forward did not have the game he was expecting to. He finished with four points and a game-high six assists.

"I told our players that everyone can play if they're in there", Virginia coach Tony Bennett said.

The chairman of the NCAA selection committee, Bruce Rasumussen, has said the investigations played no part of the bracket-filling process. "It's playing Virginia on the last day". It's odd to see that their points per game totals have only gone up by less than a point from last season to this. "UMBC, I just started to know more about them". Running her best 800 meters of the season up to that point in 2:08.27, she brought her team into second before making the final baton exchange. As a team, North Carolina shot 50 percent from three and 43.5 percent overall. Virginia slows it way down.

North Carolina has a chance to be the first. The Cavaliers are so disciplined.

Every open shot has to go in.

The case against North Carolina is pretty simple too. But if they'd gotten to the Final Four and lost there, the knock would have been that they can't win the big one.

The Tar Heels, on the other hand, are at their best when they get offensive rebounds.

Don't turn it over, hit your threes, get to the line and convert. Miles netted 25 points to lead his team for the second time in as many days, while Carter added 17 points and nine assists.

Jack Salt had his moments against Clemson in a semifinal. But he and the Tar Heels know what lays ahead is more important. Transition points. Kenny Williams has been on a tear lately, knocking down points off of pushing up the court. Defensively, Virginia basketball yields 52.8 points per game against the opposing teams. The Red Raiders have size and balance with six players averaging at least nine points and have some impressive wins to their credit - including victories against NCAA teams West Virginia, Auburn and Kentucky.

"He's the type of guy where if he makes a mistake on the next play, he's coming at you to get it right back".

The problem though is that they were the only two who consistently saw production against this suffocating defense.

"We stand and get back and build a wall, and that was key for us", Hall said.

On Saturday night, Virginia was the champion.

"To win a regular season ACC, that's the long haul", Bennett said. The second-seeded Bearcats open with 15-seed Georgia State (24-10) on Friday in Nashville, Tennessee. As insane as that sounds having a team with nine losses be in a position to land a spot on a top line. "I'm comfortable and confident that our team has done enough and deserves an NIT berth for sure". The No. 2 seed is Duke, with Michigan State at No. 3. It's just different than any other team we played. "Thankful to be the one seed". The Cavaliers were 6-10 from beyond the arc and were a ideal 8-8 on free-throws after struggling in the semifinal with 37.5 percent free-throw shooting.

That kept us out of trouble. "I think the team did very well and we are all happy, we are feeling better of course". The save helped the Czech stopper achieve his 200th clean sheet in the Premier League.
