Who's in? Who's out? SEC in the NCAA Tournament

Villanova (East), Xavier (West), Kansas (Midwest) and Virginia (Virginia) have clinched No. 1 seeds in the tournament.

The top-seeded Cavaliers (30-2) got several crucial contributions from role player Jack Salt down the stretch and will play for the tournament title Saturday night in Brooklyn against 12th-ranked and sixth-seeded North Carolina, a 74-69 victor over second-seeded Duke. That team went 20-11 but lost in the first round of March Madness.

"Everybody's capable in this tournament. It's like a fine oil poured upon your head", Bennett told his team. "But then you get your seeding and then it starts over". Should the Cavaliers advance to the Round of 32, they'll face the victor of Kansas State and Creighton. The South Region does not get easier from there: Cincinnati, Tennessee, Arizona and Kentucky are the No. 2 through 5 seeds, respectively.

North Carolina (25-10), No. 12 in the AP Top 25, tied for third during the ACC regular season at 11-7 and won nine of 11 before losing to top-ranked Virginia in Saturday's ACC title game.

There's some fun potential matchups awaiting Virginia, should the Cavaliers advance out of Charlotte and on to Atlanta for the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight.

Bennett declined to say if he thought it was unfair for the committee to build a seemingly hard region around the No. 1 overall seed. He said it can be hard to transition from playing familiar conference foes for three months to preparing for an unknown opponent.

PSG must calm down before considering changes - Al-Khelaifi
The home side rarely threatened and Real Madrid fully deserved their win. "We will calm down to think about what to change". This is a club without a rich history in the competition, their one and only semifinal appearance coming back in 1995.

Carolina coach Roy Williams called it an "Old-fashion butt kicking". "Experience helps, but being ready to play that night is the most important thing".

The Cavaliers (31-2, 17-1 ACC) won't get the luxury of facing a team that is playing in the First Four despite being the No. 1 overall seed.

The Hokies are the No. 8 seed in the East region; Alabama is No. 9. The victor likely will have to face No. 1 Villanova in the round of 32.

No teams from the District of Columbia made the field of 68, and the only school representing Maryland is No. 16 UMBC (24-10). St. Mary's was left out despite going 28-5 and beating Gonzaga because, Rasmussen said, it did not have enough quality wins, even as he acknowledged that it is structurally hard for teams outside basketball's six power conferences to schedule top nonleague competition. "Their unity is as good as any as I've ever coached", Cavaliers coach Tony Bennett said. Orlando Vandross, Virginia's director of recruiting and player development, coached under Odom at UNC-Charlotte.

"He's just all heart, and he'll do whatever you ask", Bennett said. "He is a coach's son as I am and he's been around a lot".
