The police officer who caught a child flung from the roof by her father says he feels good about having saved the 1-year-old's life.

Jordan was injured during the early morning hours of September 22, 1987, while responding to a potential break and enter in progress on Fort Street.

Jordan was responding to a potential break-and-enter in progress on Fort Street when his vehicle collided with another VicPD auto at Douglas and Fisgard streets more than 30 years ago.

"VicPD would like to offer our honest condolences to Const. Jordan's family, friends and colleagues during this hard time". The officer who was in the other vehicle, Sgt. Ole Jorgensen, was also seriously injured. When the officer got out to check the vehicle, the auto behind him sped off and struck him.

Clifford was an assistant coach with the Los Angeles Lakers for one season while Kupchak was the general manager there. He missed part of this season because of headaches stemming from sleep deprivation.

"He is a constant reminder of the sacrifices our officers make to keep the citizens of Victoria and Esquimalt safe", Manak said at the time.

Chief Const. Del Manak visited Jordan in hospital regularly, and his room was updated with a plaque past year. According to the Blue Line article, the dispatcher had arranged to have the traffic lights red in both directions at the time of the crash.

A funeral with full police honours is being planned but details have not be announced yet. He leaves behind his wife Hilary and son Mark.
