The 2nd generation AMD Ryzen CPU processors lineup of four CPUs, namely AMD Ryzen 7 2700X, AMD Ryzen 7 2700, AMD Ryzen 5 2600X, and AMD Ryzen 5 2600 that require discrete graphics cards. The 2700X comes with a new Wraith Prism cooler with RGB backlit clear blades and four direct-contact copper heat pipes. The new chipset is created to support the increased clock speeds that are supported by the second-generation Ryzen line-up. Additionally, the company is also offering "Wraith" coolers with each CPU unit.

Along with the new CPUs comes an updated motherboard chipset, known as Pinnacle Ridge. The Ryzen 7 2700 is very similar, with base and boost speeds of 3.2GHz and 4.1GHz respectively and a 65W TDP, and is priced at Rs. 20,490 plus taxes.

"Second generation Ryzen desktop processors take everything that made the original Ryzen so groundbreaking and makes it better", said Jim Anderson, senior vice president and general manager, Computing and Graphics Group, AMD, "[that means] great performance combined with advanced technology to deliver an unbelievable experience for the most demanding users".

Asus also launched quite a few motherboards based on AMD's new X470 chipset, including three with the Republic of Gamers badge, one Prime series motherboard and one TUF-series motherboard.

Ryzen 7 2700X will feature 8 cores / 16 threads, with a clock speed of 4.3/3.7 Ghz (boost/base) and 20MB of Smart Prefetch Cache.

The company maintains that it has never been hacked or compromised and the incident took place when its CSO Dr. Coinsecure had recently launched Android and iOS apps and it was moving towards a multi-coin architecture.

As for the X470 platform, which AMD has also unveiled today, we'll be seeing a massive range of new motherboards hit the market that support the new chipset.

The Ryzen 5 2600X with its 6 cores and 12 threads comes with a 3.6GHz base clock and a 4.2GHz turbo, packed in a 95W TDP. Fortunately, you can still use the new CPU with the older AMD chipsets from previous year and the older CPU can run with the new X470 boards.

True to its promise, AMD today has officially announced that the 2nd generation Ryzen processors will be made available throughout the world starting from next week onwards.

Below you'll see a grid of the various different models available right out the gate for this 2nd gen Ryzen desktop processor collection. The Ryzen 7 2700 will come with the Wraith Spire LED cooler, while the Ryzen 5 2600X and Ryzen 5 2600 will come with the Wraith Spire and Wraith Stealth coolers respectively. At the time, the first generation Ryzen CPUs simply offered more cores and better multi-threaded performance than Intel at all pricing tiers above the low budget category.
