Ban lifted on Sri Reddy; TFCC forms commission to tackle sexual harassment

Sri Reddy is now a sensation in Tollywood and her leaks have been creating ripples across the circles of Telugu cinema.

The NHRC has also observed that the State government and the Movie Actors Association have worked together stifle Sri Reddy's voice as a whistle blower in the industry.

Telugu actress Sri Reddy has been one of the highlights of the week due to her contemptable protest and spree of allegations targeting the bigwigs of the Telugu film industry. The committee is to meet once in three months to look into the complaints of sexual harassment. A statement issued by the NHRC said that the state government and the ministry have been to submit its reports within four weeks.

After Sri Reddy's topless protest on Saturday, April 7 and further allegations in an interview of sexual harassment, she has received support from India's top rights body, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC). The commission also said that it is of the opinion that the reported ban on the actress, barring her to act in the films and stopping others to work with her are violation of her right to livelihood and live a life with dignity.

She has excelled at everything she has ever done in her life because she's unflappable, determined and has a legendary work ethic. Although Whalen will return to coach her alma mater, where she played from 2000-04, she will also continue to play for the Lynx.

"The issues raised by the actress demand action on part of the state government", said the human rights body.

The actress, who started her career as a news reader on a Telugu channel and also did small roles in a couple of films, named a few prominent personalities of the industry.

Maa association now removed the ban on her and even started a team to stop this casting couch issues. Rejecting her charges a day after the protest, office-bearers of the MAA had said several Telugu actresses had over the years got adequate opportunities in their film careers.

She also appealed to Chiranjeevi not to encourage this kind of people who exploited hundreds of female artists including a 16-year girl. Apart from accusing the renowned director Sekhar Kammula of involvement in casting couch and singer Sreeram Chandra of sending her lewd messages, she has also accused leading producer Suresh Babu's son Abhiram Daggubati of forcing her into having sex with him.
