Dead baby in Kerala toilet

The body of a two-day-old baby which was flushed down a toilet was recovered in Kerala's Palakkad, according to several media reports.

The incident occurred in Kerala's Palakkad district. The police are also going through records of patients who recently visited the clinic.

'There wasn't much of a foul smell emanating from the toilet. The police have filed a case against the newborn's parents, who are said to be absconding and the dead baby is mored to the Thrissur medical college for an autopsy. However, as the placenta was intact with the baby, the mother could have delivered her inside the washroom and made a decision to dump her in the commode, said cops. Abdul Rehman immediately informed the local police which rushed to the spot and recovered the body. Seeing the colour of the blood, the domestic worker mistook it for muddy water, ' the cops were quoted as saying by the TNM.
