THE CBI is trying to verify the claim of BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar that he was attending a birthday function in Kanpur city at the time he was alleged to have committed rape on June 4, 2017. "I also said that one must live by their conscience, and my conscience did not approve that violence and riots are caused just for the resignation of two ministers", Singh told ANI.

Informed sources said Mehbooba will request the Jammu and Kashmir High Court to constitute a fast track trial court to deliver a sentence in the case.

"Naari Virodhi (anti-woman) Adityanath has not only utterly failed in his constitutional duties as the Chief Minister and abused the oath of office but also played an important protagonist in safeguarding the interests of the rape accused BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar", he added.

Chandra Prakash Ganga and Lal Singh, two BJP ministers had participated in a rally which supported the people who were involved in raping and murdering an eight-year-old girl in Kathua district.
