I tried to ask Comey 'the most critical questions — George Stephanopoulos

Donald Trump launched into another Twitter tirade against James Comey on Sunday, hours before the broadcast of an extended interview with the fired former Federal Bureau of Investigation director about his interactions with the United States president.

The investigation actually began when the FBI learned in July 2016 that George Papadopoulos, who was briefly an adviser to the Trump presidential campaign, "had been talking to someone in London about getting dirt that the Russians had on Hillary Clinton".

"He was the director of the CIA", Comey said. Excerpts from Comey's book also include subtle digs at Trump's appearance and hand size, which has been a point of contention with reporters in the past.

On Sunday, he said he was unsure if the rumors were true, but said they left the president open to blackmail by the Russian government. Comey recalled the president asking "Do I look like a guy who needs hookers?" The former executive assistant director noted that to him it showed that Comey felt so strongly that Trump is unfit for office that he was willing to break the usual norms of conduct for a former FBI Director.

Petraeus pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge for mishandling classified information in 2015.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters during a briefing aboard Air Force One on the way to Florida on Monday that the president did not watch the entire Comey interview, but saw "bits and pieces" and didn't "learn anything new".

"The way [Director Comey] handled the conclusion of the email investigation was wrong, " Rosenstein wrote.

Despite Trump's attacks on Comey, whom the president fired, Comey doesn't consider himself someone dedicated to bringing the president down.

"He's part of the family now".

Comey also said that serving in Trump's administration poses a serious ethical dilemma.

Baltimore Ravens Are Interested In Signing Dez Bryant
The Dallas Cowboys , as was inevitable as long as he would not take a pay cut, released Dez Bryant last Friday. Naturally, attention immediately turned toward where he will play next season.

The FBI chief was sacked while the agency was probing possible collusion between Trump's 2016 presidential campaign and Russia's meddling in the U.S. election. "He has no credibility and President Trump was right to follow through on the bipartisan calls for him to be fired". If he does, most legal experts believe that order would have to go through Rosenstein. Lindsey Graham (R- S.C.) and Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) who found transcripts in August showing that Comey had drafted a statement rejecting charges be filed against Clinton, about two months before Clinton ever spoke with FBI investigators. "This president is not able to do that", he said. "And so I choose to see the opportunity in a forest fire because what forest fires do is allow things to grow that never could've grown". My sense of him, maybe it's unfair to him, was that he was over matched for the job.

"This president is unethical, and untethered to truth and institutional values", Comey says in the book, according to a New York Times review. He shouldn't have done it.

"I started to tell him about the allegation was that he had been involved with prostitutes in a hotel in Moscow in 2013", Comey says in the clip.

"I think it's possible", he said. "As far as I know, everybody does what they do for money".

In the immediate wake of his sudden firing by Trump, Comey received several concerned phone calls.

"And I have every confidence that Jim Comey accurately copied, collected, recounted what exactly went on during those discussions", former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper said.

"I often hear people talk about it".

"Please don't do that, John", Comey recalled telling Kelly. I thought the Republicans were in favor of capitalism.

"The challenge of this President is that he will stain everyone around him". "Please don't do that.' And I said, 'We need you to stay and serve for the country'". And no one would begrudge you leaving.

To this day, Comey's justification for that decision is absurdly weak.
