WWE superstar John Cena and former Divas champion Nikki Bella have called it quits, ending their six-year relationship and marriage engagement.

Cena proposed to Nikki at WrestleMania 32 after the duo won a mixed tag match against The Miz and Maryse.

Nikki commented on her break up with Cena by simply saying, "we love you all" while including a section from the Us Weekly interview including the couple's public statement.

"While this decision was a hard one, we continue to have a great deal of love and respect for one another", the couple, who had been together for six years, said in a statement tweeted out by Bella.

Bella stars in a reality TV show on E! called "Total Bellas" with her twin sister, Brie. "We ask that you just respect our privateness throughout this time in our lives".

Namely, Nikki Bella wanted to get married and have children.

But soon after the trailer was released in March, Cena confirmed that the wedding was still on during an appearance on the TODAY Show with Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb. "You either have two choices: you either jump ship and start a new relationship or move forward and try to work through it". "I know that we will have a wonderful future together because I love the way that sounds". "We work every day on us".
