The horrific gang-rape and murder of an eight-year-old girl child in Jammu is being equated with the gruesome sexual assault and killing in a Delhi bus a few years ago along with other ghastly crimes committed across the country against women including minors.

"Everytime our government's fail our people, it becomes the duty of the citizens to come together and support those in need".

Meanwhile, CM Mufti has requested the setting up of a special fast track court and written to the chief justice of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court to ensure speedy justice to the 8-year-old girl in Kathua, as per official sources.

Singh, who held the Environment and Forest portfolio and Ganga, the Industries and Commerce Minister, submitted their resignations to state BJP chief Satpal Sharma. She was taken to a temple in Rasana village in Kathua district.

Leaders arrive in Saudi ahead of 29th Arab League summit By
Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani headed Qatar's delegation at last year's Arab summit in Jordan. Despite widespread Arab condemnation of the chemical attack, suspected to have been carried out by Mr.

The victim's family now believe that the only way they can get justice is if the case is moved out of Jammu. "We put forth their demand before the party as well as chief minister Mehbooba Mufti, who rejected it and said the Crime Branch would probe the matter", he said.

The senior BJP leader said the resignation of the ministers was to address the fears of not only its ally PDP and the people of Jammu and Kashmir but also the entire nation. But forensic reports showed that the victim had been drugged, repeatedly raped, bludgeoned with a rock and strangled. "Intolerance and hate are hitting at the country's core values and posing a great threat to the pluralism, the only option for achieving the goals India has set out", she said and added that India comprises a composite culture and no one has domination in it. "As a country, as a society we all are ashamed of it", the Prime Minister said. The rape wasn't part of the conspiracy, said the crime branch, which has charged his son, juvenile nephew and a police officer with gang rape.

The ruling PDP thanked the BJP leadership for taking resignations of the two leaders. The widespread protests against the two ministers gained intensity earlier this week, more than a month after they attended the rally and made utterly despicable remarks.

A crisis had overtaken the Peoples Democratic Party-Bharatiya Janata Party coalition in the state over the role of these two ministers.
