Malema lambastes 'crocodile tears' over Winnie Mandela

At the funeral service held on 14 April at Orlando stadium, Malema visibly tore into the ANC leaders whom he said they claimed Winnie was now theirs yet they disowned her.

Malema and leaders of other political parties have also been allowed to be part of the dignitaries to bid their final farewell to the struggle icon at the cemetery.

"You [Madikizela-Mandela] trusted that your mission of putting the country first was embraced by an organisation that you loved; but Mama, you did not know that your organisation had been rendered incapable of loving you back", said Malema.

"Mama, the widows of Marikana are still in tears".

As with her former husband Nelson Mandela's funeral, the rain poured down on the day of Madikizela-Mandela's send-off.

He mentioned the United Democratic Front distancing itself from Madikizela-Mandela over the killing of teenager Stompie Seipei, the ANC Women's League national executive committee members who resigned en-masse after the struggle hero was convicted of fraud and theft, saying that they claimed they could not be led by a criminal.

Malema called for the Cape Town International Airport to be named after Madikizela Mandela. Winnie's legacy became warped simply because certain people saw it right to neglect her and completely abandon the duty to protect her inspiring legacy.

"Some of those who sold you out to the regime are here".

Even though he acknowledged Cyril Ramaphosa and notably left out Jacob Zuma in his introductory remarks, he made it a point that he outlined what the Economic Freedom Fighters have always said, that Ramaphosa was responsible for the Marikana massacre.
