Rare says that the first content update for Sea of Thieves will be called The Hungering Deep, bringing a unsafe new AI threat to the seas that will force crews to work together. The centerpiece of the plan includes big content updates through the rest of the year. It will add a new AI threat, as well as new mechanics and rewards.

The Sea of Thieves content roadmap was revealed today and, starting in May, players will be getting new weekly events that feature new AI dangers, rewards, and gameplay mechanics to regularly freshen up the seafaring adventure.

Following the release of The Hungering Deep, Sea of Thieves will then be hosting weekly events that will run until the next content update.

"We've been listening closely to our community, and we know how keen they are to hear how we plan to grow Sea of Thieves", Rare executive producer Joe Neate said. Rare says that what they're trying to do with this new AI threat is to make players interact with the game differently, trying to bring crews together. Up first is "The Hungering Deep" in May, which will introduce a new threat for players to deal with. The content updates will introduce "major new features" as well as fresh items, mechanics, and goals.

Winner of $533 million Mega Millions jackpot to be revealed
The prize is the largest lottery win in New Jersey history, and the fourth-highest Mega Millions jackpot ever. Its owners already received a bonus check of $30,000 for selling the single winning ticket.

The other three content updates are planned to arrive before the end of 2018. Those that take part in the event will be able to earn some unique rewards as well.

Looking further down the line, this summer will see a couple of updates with the Cursed Sails and Forsaken Shores updates. The water looks incredible, sailing is fun, but outside of those two things many have found the game to be lacking. Based on feedback since launch, Rare changed the priorities for both Pets and Ship Captaincy which had been previously announced as things to add in the few months after launch.

Rare has said this before, but it also reiterated that it is offering this content for free because it does not want to separate its players into haves and havenots.
