Soon all the questions on this subject will finally disappear, when the first and the second part will be released on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

A Sega representative has confirmed that the recently announced Shenmue I & II re-releases will retail for $29.99 in the US.

Sega is keeping the classic "Shenmue" games alive by bringing both Dreamcast classics "Shenmue I" and "Shenmue II" to modern consoles and PCs.

Like we said, Shenmue 1 and 2 will be hitting modern platforms sometime later this year.

"This is the definitive version of these all-time classics and will be the best Shenmue experience to date".

This collection of two games will be offered with fully scalable screen resolution, a choice between modern and classic control schemes, PC graphics options, an enhanced user interface and even an option to switch between Japanese or English voiceovers. The long-anticipated follow-up, Shenmue III, is also due for release later this year following a highly successful Kickstarter campaign. The official announcement trailer is not enough to base on, either, since Sega noted at the start that "This trailer uses pre-release footage, and represents a work in progress".

The upcoming re-releases will come with several enhancements for current-gen hardware but they're neither full HD remakes nor remasters.

KitGuru Says: Shenmue is a fairly niche game, but its presence at Sony's E3 conference in 2015 got a lot of people interested in the series for the first time.
