A Facebook post from the Marion County Sheriff's Office said, "Right now deputies have responded to a shooting at Forest High School". CNN reports that a suspect is already in custody, and the injured student (who was shot in the ankle) has been taken to a nearby hospital.

The identities of both students were not immediately released.

SWAT now is doing a secondary sweep of the school.

The Ocala shooting comes more than two months since the massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, where 17 students and teachers were killed. "The school board will be reuniting parents and students at the First Baptist Church of Ocala on Southeast Maricamp Road".

Police have asked the public to stay away from the school. The students were being transported to the church by bus.

During the walkout, which starts at 10 each time zone, students will leave their classrooms and observe a moment of silence for shooting victims.

Students at thousands of U.S. schools were due to walk out today in memory of the attack - as part of the National School Walkout against gun violence.

This is a developing story.
