Target stores nationwide are making it easier for you to recycle and upfit your child's old auto seat during their 5th vehicle seat trade-in event.

Parents can bring an old vehicle seat into any Target and get a coupon for 20% off of a new one.

Bring your auto seat to the drop-off box located near Guest Services.

The promotion is available from April 22 to May 5, 2018. The coupon can be used in the store or online.

Target will recycle the old seat through Waste Management.

#ICYMI: Kings XI Punjab's Chris Gayle scores first century of IPL 2018
Gayle found supporting hands from Karun Nair (31) and Aaron Finch (14*) as Kings XI finished strongly at 193 for 3. When Williamson holed out for 54 off 41 balls in the 15th over, Sunrisers were left needing 81 off 34 balls.

Due to vehicle seats not being eligible for curbside recycling programs, the changing of regulations, auto seats expiring every six years and seats that aren't in flawless shape in need of immediate replacement, Target implemented this program in 2016.

Used seats shouldn't be sold or given away, since they expire every six years and regulations change constantly.

That means a lot of used vehicle seats end up in the trash. So basically, Target is doing something good you the planet, and giving you a little monetary incentive to participate!

We've held five trade-in recycling events (big and small) at our stores so far. The program, started in 2016, has recycled 176,000 auto seats, according to a Target fact sheet on the program.

And that's just the beginning.
