Flash Flood Watch In Effect For Parts Of Maryland

The weather service, quoting Frederick emergency management, said widespread flash flooding had already occurred in and near Frederick.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for Monday afternoon and evening throughout Will County, warning of "hail up to ping pong ball size" and possible flooding. Streams and creeks could leave their banks, flooding nearby properties.

At 9 a.m. the stage was 13 feet and rising; flood stage is 12 feet, the weather service said in a statement.

A new Flood Watch begins at 8 a.m. for areas south of M-59 because of the heavier morning rain moving in as we speak.

The Rock River at Lake Koshkonong approached "minor flooding" levels on Wednesday, and is expected to border "moderate flooding" levels by the weekend. The Okanogan River is expected to rise to more than 21 feet by Saturday, which may flood some homes and farmlands.
