Samsung has announced the launch date of its new smartphone, the Galaxy J6.

The Samsung Galaxy A6 and the A6 Plus are mid-range devices and they are expected to be priced between Rs 20,000 - Rs 25,000. The Galaxy A6+ will come with an MRP of Rs 28,000.

Samsung has so far only released a couple of truly affordable Android smartphones this year, focusing primarily on premium designs and features, including more than respectable mid-rangers with "Infinity" screens and dual rear-facing cameras. It is a well-known fact that Samsung is now struggling to keep up with the rest of the competition, especially, in the budget segment. The upcoming smartphones will compete with the likes of Honor and Xiaomi. While the Galaxy A6 comes with a 5.6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity display, the Galaxy A6+ offers Full HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity display. The phone will likely whip with Android Oreo software and because Samsung has been pushing its Samsung Mall AI-based smart shopping service on nearly all its budget phones, chances are it may do the same with the Galaxy J6 as well.

The J6 model will be available in stores from May 22 with three different storage options (2 GB/3GB/4GB RAM) and up to 64 GB internal storage. There are reports which suggested that the camera selection of the tablet will be high-end, with a 12-megapixel camera sensor on the rear and on the front the tablet will house an 8-megapixel camera sensor. An interesting aspect to point is that the device will provide support for Samsung Pay.

Coming to Galaxy A6+, the smartphone has been already launched in the global market. The phone is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 450 chipset with a maximum clock speed of 1.8GHz. The upcoming tablet will run on Android 8.1 Oreo right out of the box.

The Galaxy A6 features NFC, Bluetooth, CAT6 LTE, GPS, and WiFi as connectivity options.
