However, it also started at 6pm BST in the United Kingdom, so assuming Amazon will do a worldwide rollout similar to previous year, expect Prime Day 2018 to start on the evening of July 16 and end in the morning of July 18, regardless of where you live.

Naturally, there will be an Amazon Prime subscription push in the days or weeks leading up to the event, so that will likely be a good time to sign up if you aren't a Prime member, and we fully expect Amazon's devices like the Echo, Echo Dot, Fire TV Stick, Kindles and tablets to be seriously discounted, too.

Amazon Prime Day 2018 will take place on Tuesday July 17th with deals starting at midday the day before - Monday 16th. Last year, Prime Day began on July 10 at 9pm Eastern / 6pm Pacific in the U.S., and ended on July 11 at 3am Eastern / 12am Pacific. The reveal of this date also breaks Amazon's recent pattern of having Prime Day on the second Tuesday in July.

Verizon, AT&T to end location data sales to brokers
A spokesman for T-Mobile didn't immediately respond to a request for comment. Verizon is the first telecom company to discontinue the sale of this data.

Last year's edition of Prime Day was the most successful in Amazon's history. Prime Day has sparked off something of a bidding war among various retailers, as stores vie for shoppers' attention.

Prime Day comes later than expected and TechRadar speculates the 2018 World Cup edition in Russian Federation might be to blame.

Last year, Prime Day began at 9pm Eastern / 6pm Pacific, and ended at midnight Pacific. After all, Amazon has been doing more and more with Whole Foods, and other apparel brands like Nike and Calvin Klein are also now available on the site. Though they've been involved in the sales event since its inception in 2015, Marketplace retailers could offer consumers some of the biggest deals and discounts of the sale.
