Zara Tindall gives birth to a girl

Buckingham Palace said on Tuesday (Wednesday NZ Time) the baby is the second child of Zara and Mike Tindall, a former English rugby player.

Zara Tindall, 37, daughter of Anne, Princess Royal, has baby news.

Queen Elizabeth II's granddaughter Zara Tindall has given birth to a baby girl.

The couple have not yet revealed their daughter's name but another announcement will be made "in due course" according to the official statement.

Mrs Tindall, who is the daughter of the Queen's only daughter, the Princess Royal, married Mr Tindall in 2011.

The little girl is a younger sister to four-year-old Mia Tindall and a second cousin to Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

A spokesperson for Zara said the pair were "very happy" after welcoming the new addition to the royal family, who is nineteenth-in-line to the throne.

"The weight of the baby was 9lb 3oz".

They tragically lost a child in 2016 when Zara was pregnant, weeks after announcing they were expecting again.
