Parachutes deploy to gently land the capsule, while the rocket reignites its engine to land upright on the ground. "We will begin selling tickets sometime after our first human flights and are focused on developing New Shepard", the company said in a statement, CNET reported.

As it continues to progress toward human flights, Blue Origin will perform another potentially risky uncrewed test today of its New Shepard rocket and spacecraft.

Launch commentator Ariane Cornell promised it would be soon.

A crew capsule mounted on top of the New Shepard rocket will carry experiments and a dummy nicknamed "Mannequin Skywalker" to simulate the experience passengers will see on future flights. But the company Blue Origin has found a way out of this situation. Once the booster separated, the capsule's escape motor fired, lifting the spacecraft to an altitude of 389,846 feet.

The vehicle lifted off from the company's West Texas test site at 11:11 a.m.

On Wednesday's flight, Blue Origin says it will push the New Shepard rocket to its limits with a high-altitude escape motor test.

During that test, the spacecraft's emergency motor was sacked 45 seconds into the flight, at an altitude of 16,000 feet (4,876 meters), slamming the rocket booster with 70,000 pounds of thrust and forceful exhaust.

However, a Blue Origin employee with first-hand knowledge of the pricing strategy said that the company will be charging passengers in the range of $200,000 to $300,000.

The New Shepard capsule also made it to its highest elevation ever by 50,000 feet (15,240 meters) on Tuesday, reaching 74 miles (119 kilometers).

However, executives said they haven't set a price yet, according to CNET.

Other items aboard the flight include a NASA-funded vibration damping system to allow for more precise experiments in microgravity, an assortment of scientific, medical and textile materials from the Thai startup mu Space, and an allotment of mementos and other items provided by Blue Origin employees.

Those payloads some that flew previously, like the Schmitt Space Communicator developed by Solstar, a New Mexico company seeking to demonstrate the use of wifi communications technologies in space. Those missions will rely on the bigger, more powerful New Glenn rocket still under development.
