Paris Saint-Germain forward, Neymar says Cristiano Ronaldo's move from Real Madrid to Juventus will restore Italian football back to its glory days.

Madrid have been long-term admirers of Neymar, having initially missed out on his signature when he made a decision to join Barcelona, and Cristiano Ronaldo's exit from the Bernabeu led to further reports that the European champions could step up their chase for the Brazil global.

"The two clubs enjoy an excellent relationship and, as such, if Real Madrid were at any stage to consider securing the services of a PSG player, they would approach the club in the first instance".

British media reports said Thursday PSG were open to the possibility of selling Neymar.

While Italian football hasn't been so fashionable in recent years, Neymar is adamant Ronaldo's transfer will have changed perceptions of the league.

"He's a phenomenon, a great player". The star footballer, who recently signed with Juventus, ending his 9-year stint with the Spanish giants, went to Greece for a vacation after his country's exit from the FIFA World Cup following 2-1 loss to Uruguay in the Round of 16.

This summer they were willing to bring his release clause down and with Juventus paying Real Madrid £100m he was able to leave.
