Google's own smartphone is not playing well with Android 9.0 Pie

Yesterday it emerged a score of users had taken to Google's Issue Tracker blog, spotted by Android Police, to declare after upgrading to Android 9 Pie, the device's rapid charging functionality was no longer working. That's basically all the top-end phones that HTC has released over the course of this year and last year.

Now that Android 9.0 Pie is official, the burning question of our time is when will your particular handset be updated to this latest version of Android, if at all?

Sony has also already made plans to bring the Android Pie update to some of its phones. The update will be rolled out in a phased manner to secure "quality delivery". This goes from devices running Android Go (Nokia 2.1 and Nokia 1) to last year's starters (Nokia 2, 3, 5, 6), the flagships (Nokia 7, 7 Plus, 8, 8 Sirocco) the updates (Nokia 3.1, 5.1, 6.1, 6.1 Plus) and the Chinese-only Nokia X5 and Nokia X6.

Much before the Android P beta was out, some commits in the AOSP source code indicated that Android P would play a tone while a phone call was being recorded.

Turkey doubles tariffs on some USA imports; lira rallies
In retaliation on Wednesday, Turkey said it was imposing taxes of ranging from 50 to 140% on rice, alcohol and cars from the U.S. Brunson's lawyer told CBS News that a higher court was still considering the appeal and could overrule that decision.

You are correct in thinking that there is zero chance of Android Pie arriving on the Nokia 8110 4G "Banana phone" that just went on sale in the United Kingdom, primarily because it doesn't actually run on the Android OS. Interestingly, the recently launched Moto E5 and E5 Plus smartphones are not part of Android 9 Pie eligible smartphones list, which is quite surprising. The stable update should arrive sometimes this autumn, although we don't have an exact date to share with you. These are the other Nokia handsets that will get some Android Pie goodness in the coming months.

Hi, Android Pie will be available for the Nokia 3, 5, 6 and 8. Granted, that there is no way for Google as a company to differentiate the former from people who record phone calls for blackmail, there needs to be an effective solution in place that doesn't depend on carriers.

We'll continue to update the list as more information becomes available.
