Last week, Chinese smartphone brand Xiaomi announced Pocophone as its new sub-brand which will be called POCO in India.

GSMDome had obtained a full retail unit of the Pocophone F1 and the packaging is like any typical Xiaomi smartphone. But now, the company has announced that it will be launching the POCO F1 in India next week which is nothing but the Pocophone F1. It may also have some other spruced up features to differentiate itself from the existing range. At least, relatively more affordable than phones with similar specs. For the first product, we got back to basics and focus entirely on speed.

"As a small outfit within Xiaomi, we have the freedom to start from scratch, zeroing in on the product choices that matter".

Poco by Xiaomi is all set to make its debut on August 22.

He also said that the phones under Poco sub-brand will be "powerful" and offer "not just peak performance speed, but actual, real world, speed". According to a listing posted by a Romanian retailer PC Garage, the rear cameras of the POCO F1 will be 15MP and 5MP. Since the Poco F1 is being pitched as a flagship phone which will also be very fast, chances are that it should pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 on the inside.

Gov. Scott declares state of emergency due to red tide
From Naples in Southwest Florida, about 135 miles north, beach communities along the Gulf coast have been plagued with red tide. As well, Scott is directing more than $100,000 to Mote Marine Laboratory, which on Monday conducted a dolphin-rescue mission.

Unlike the Mi 8 SE, the Xiaomi Pocophone F1 retains the infrared face scanning tech found on the pricier Mi 8.

Additionally, the upcoming flagship will have 6GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage and will be running the Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI update.

- The Pocophone F1 will reportedly come with a 6.18-inch 1080p+ display with an unusual aspect ratio of 18.7:9.

The F1 has been leaked over the past month and is rumored to come with a Snapdragon 845, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of Storage, a 4000mAH battery, a 20MP front facing camera and USB Type-C connectivity.

The camera will also have AI capabilities and hopefully, a Portrait Mode might become a part of the software, just like what came with the Mi 8.
