Apples new iPhones a slight notch above the X

In the imaging department, the iPhone XR features a single 12MP rear camera with a f/1.8 aperture.

Standing in line, Hasan Malik, 18, from Pakistan, said getting hold of the new iPhone was his only plan for the weekend.

The new iPhones have subtle additions to last year's reimagined iPhone X, the tenth anniversary phone, and do not look very different aside from the ginormous size, several reviewers said. One would have assumed that Apple would fit a bigger battery in its OLED iPhone XS rather than the XR which comes with a lower resolution LCD display. We know, even we became surprised!

When it comes to video editing, the iPhone XS and XS Max crushed the rivals. But even if a redesigned iPhone SE costs more than $350, having a new 4-inch iPhone would satisfy customers who want a smaller smartphone that runs iOS, and customers in general would benefit by having more options to choose from.

Of course, you'd be much better off waiting a few months and buying at a slight discount.

This is further evidence that the phone will pack an optical fingerprint reader embedded right in the display . This feature, to be known as Screen Unlock , may have a positive effect on the hype around the device.

On T-Mobile, the increase was much less, in part because the iPhone X already had the fastest connectivity in that network: 29.82Mbps.

In a statement released by the company on Thursday, Deliveroo said: "Following last year's release which saw the iPhone X almost sell-out across Ireland at pre-order, Deliveroo is ensuring that those who decide to queue and buy in store won't go hungry". If you want one tomorrow then you might have some luck at your local Apple retail store as they usually carry launch day stock or you could try your carrier's store too. Non the less, the sky-high price tags will definitely create a lot of fuss among the buyers.

With the exception of pre-orders, most major telcos will not be selling the iPhone XS in outer suburban or regional outlets. That rand-dollar exchange rate can't be helping us either. No Android phone is able to beat them as far as benchmark numbers are concerned. Look at the price and specification!

In the United States, the iPhone Xs 64GB retails for $999 - which is around R14,400 at today's currency rates. Only time will tell. This means you'll need to spend $9 more for a dongle if you want to use an old pair of headphones.
