It is one of the most asked questions among social media marketers: in the caption or the comments, what is the best place to add hashtags to an Instagram post. It would also make it possible for Instagram to surface more content via hashtags.

This feature will not be limited to the posts only, or so it seems.

Instagram is reportedly testing new features that could dramatically change what your feed looks like. The benefit is a shortened list of visible hashtags, limiting the amount of distractions within a post's caption. Now this could prove to be very useful for someone who let's say, is creating content for different geographies. For the rest of us, that means an easier time reading posts. It also looks like there's no limit to the number of hashtags that you can add to a post.

There has been no official word for this feature from Instagram yet, so it's unclear that when and where will it be released. With this feature, Instagram users can basically convert someone else's story highlight from their profile into a sticker that can then be overlaid on their own story.

"This is an interesting development for Instagram in a number of ways".

Tens of thousands without power following tornado in Ottawa region
Meanwhile, electricity company HydroQuebec reported over 130,000 customers were without power in the Ottawa area Friday evening. Officials warned people not to re-enter their homes until they had been deemed safe.

The third and final feature, which has also been confirmed to be under testing by Instagram, is story highlight stickers.

Sabria said he believes Instagram Stories are an important traffic generator and referral tool for brands. According to a recent source, a few prototypes are in the testing phase that will give users more power over their posts. Users will be able to use each other's highlights making their posts more interactive.

An Instagram spokesperson, however, told Mashable that it is not a feature the company is now building or testing.
