Amazon announced over a dozen brand new products last month at its hardware event in Seattle, such as the Echo Sub, Echo Link, Echo Auto, and even a smart microwave.

Amazon is expanding the ways you can interact with Alexa yet again. And that's going to be really useful when you don't want to disrupt anyone, like when your kid is sleeping.

Amazon is rolling out a new update for Alexa users in the USA which brings the new Whisper Mode to the smart speaker.

Whisper Mode does pretty much what it says on the tin.

The gates were closed again, and police used a loudspeaker to address the masses, saying, "We need you to stop the aggression". As the sun rose, a military helicopter flew along the Mexican side of river foreshadowing the difficulties they could face.

Whisper Mode is reportedly powered by the same technology behind Alexa Guard, which recognises smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, and glass breaking, turning Alexa into a home security system. Whisper Mode works with Alexa Voice Service devices and Alexa Skills in US English. The easiest way to do that is to just say "Alexa, turn on Whisper Mode".

When enabled, Alexa will be able to detect when you're whispering, and when she responds, she'll whisper back instead of talking at her normal volume.

'If you're in a room where a child has just fallen asleep, and someone else walks in, you might start speaking in a whisper, to indicate that you're trying to keep the room quiet, ' Amazon's Zeynab Raeesy said.

The idea behind this feature is training Alexa to recognize conversational cues.
