The move came as a shock, as the show was expected to get a third season.

As recently as last week, a third season order for Luke Cage was seen as a sure thing. The song, "King's Paradise", produced by Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad who are also the show's music supervisors, name drops Harlem greats like Malcolm X, Louis Armstrong, Lena Horne and the show's titular character Luke Cage.

Streaming giant Netflix is flexing its own super powers and putting an immediate end to its "Luke Cage" series. The report indicates that the two sides grew far apart over the past 48 hours due to "creative differences" and "rising tensions" over the direction of the show.

The axe comes as a bit of a surprise as plans for the third cycle were supposedly handed in this week, with showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker said to have been developing scripts for the past six months, while lead Mike Colter's contract was still ongoing. After escaping, he returned to Harlem to fight crime. This leaves Netflix with Daredevil, The Punisher and Jessica Jones. Those two heroes are still going strong, but from The Inhumans being cancelled to Cloak & Dagger's inability to catch on, plus both Luke Cage and Iron Fist getting the chop, either it means a more focused future is coming, or Marvel's TV efforts are on the downward curve.

However, this disagreement risk to bring down the coalition government of Alexis Tsipras , who has only a slight majority. Speaking to reporters, Tsipras said he would handle affairs at the Foreign Ministry.

For its latest season, "Luke Cage" had its episodes inspired after music from hip-hop veteran Pete Rock.

"I'M SO MAD ABOUT [Luke Cage]", one fan wrote.

While the Iron Fist series had a shaky start, general consensus is that its second season showed some improvement.

'Honestly guys what's the point anymore??' asked one more. "Misty, Shades and Mariah's daughter, Tilda will be missed", one fan wrote.
