Paddy McGuinness has shared the first photo of the new Top Gear team after the BBC confirmed he'll be hosting the new series with Freddie Flintoff.

But to install Flintoff, who after retiring from cricket has spent a number of years on the comedy panel show A League of Their Own, and McGuinness, whose career highlight is as the innuendo-rich host of Take Me Out, is proving less popular on Twitter.

The decision is mixed news for LeBlanc's co-hosts Chris Harris and Rory Reid, with Harris staying on as a main presenter and Reid's role being reduced to more of a bit player.

"Getting the Top Gear gig is a real honour", McGuiness said.

McGuinness said: "To be hosting a show I've watched and loved from being a small boy is beyond exciting".

Flintoff said: "It's not often you have the chance to do both of your dream jobs, but I'm now lucky enough to say I will have".

Pete Davidson Breaks Silence on Ariana Grande Split
Hope he doesn't kill himself!'" A few days ago, buzz developed about Davidson covering up an Ariana-inspired neck tattoo. Davidson repeatedly mentioned the breakup , cracking lines like, "As you can tell, I don't want to be here.

"I will forever be a Top Gear fan and I wish the team continued success".

Production will begin in early 2019, with the new season - the show's 27th overall - airing later in the year on BBC Two in the UK.

"This is a thrilling manoeuvre from the Top Gear team and I'm relishing what this trio will deliver", says Patrick Holland head of the BBC's BBC Two channel in a statement.

Matt, who joined the BBC Two motoring programme in 2016, announced he was stepping down from the show in May, because of the demands of the role, and how much it keeps him away from his family and friends.

Lancashire lads McGuinness and Flintoff - also known as Freddie Flintoff - were unveiled as the new faces of the motoring show on Monday morning. "Top Gear fans worldwide are a passionate bunch and I consider myself one of them", he added. "My dream job just got even better".

Matt announced he was leaving the show after two years back in May, but Chris Harris will remain, with producers reportedly hoping to emulate Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond's chemistry in the show's heyday with the new trio.
