As a result, some iPhone X models might not respond to a user's touch on the screen. In some cases, the screen would respond even without it being touched.

Apple Inc. disclosed a pair of issues affecting two of its more popular products: the iPhone X and the 13-inch MacBook Pro. The iPhone X, which was continued this year after Apple launched the iPhone XS, XS Max and XR, is the only model affected, according to the company. You can either make an appointment with a service provider or your local Apple Store, or you can contact Apple Support to find out about mailing in your phone for service.

This program covers iPhone X handsets for three years from the date of sale.

If you are one of those users experiencing "ghost touches" or the panel not responding to touches on your iPhone X, then you are eligible for a free replacement. The laptops were sold from June 2017 to June 2018 with 128 gigabytes or 256 GB of storage and no Touch Bar, Apple said in a note to customers.

Now Apple has announced that customers can have a free screen replacement, with customers who have already paid for the fix able to request a refund. Specific units with 128GB or 256GB SSDs have a problem that could cause data loss and failure, so Apple says it will need to update firmware on the drives. Similar to the iPhone X, Apple will replace affected computers at no cost through its retail channels or an Authorized Service Provider.

Apple typically offers an easy way to identify whether you may have the faulty part, such as with a range of serial numbers, though it didn't this time.
