Florida Law Enforcement: We Have No Voter Fraud Allegations To Investigate

The Florida Elections Canvassing Commission, comprised of Gov. Rick Scott and two Cabinet members, is slated to meet 9 a.m. November 20 to certify the election results.

"An emergency hearing is necessary as the Canvassing Board is obligated to submit the unofficial elections results to the Division of Elections by noon November 10, 2018".

A lawyer for Nelson criticized Scott for using his official position to try to influence ballot counting.

Election officials in Broward County, the second largest county in Florida, are refusing to confirm how many votes were cast or how many they have less to count.

Mr Gillum trails Mr DeSantis now by less than 38,000 votes, which is in recount range if the margin holds. Broward and Palm Beach counties are Democratic strongholds, and Snipes and Bucher are Democrats.

Trump later weighed in, tweeting Thursday evening: "Law Enforcement is looking into another big corruption scandal having to do with Election Fraud in #Broward and Palm Beach".

"Now they "found" many votes and he is only up 15,000 votes".

Nelson, who trails Gov. Rick Scott with a slim 0.18 percent margin, believes the final vote total will continue to move in his favor before a recount is called Saturday. "Since that time, it has become clear there are many more uncounted ballots than was originally reported", the campaign said.

"It's concerning, when you go to sleep at 3 a.m. on Wednesday morning after the election and, for example, Rick Scott is up by 60,000 votes, 54,000 votes, whatever it was", he said.

The White House Correspondents Association also condemned the action to revoke Acosta's credentials. Her question was about the widespread concerns that Trump's rhetoric emboldens white nationalists .

In the case of Florida still counting ballots more than 48 hours after polls closed, David Becker, the executive director for the Center for Election Innovation and Research, told NPR it is extremely common for a voting jurisdiction to be taking as long as Broward County is.

Elias said Scott's words are revealing.

Nelson also is fundraising for a recount, and said in a statement that "Rick Scott is trying to stop all the votes from being counted and he's impeding the democratic process". But lawyers for Scott contended the information is already required to be collected under state law and should take minutes to provide.

Historically, Democrats tend to pick up votes in recounts, especially hand recounts, he said. "If I had to place a bet I would say it is more likely than not that Senator Nelson will prevail in a recount and therefore be sworn in again to the United States Senate for another term in January". For all other races, county canvassing boards are responsible for ordering a recount.

Reaction over the senate race has drawn immediate comparisons to Florida's 2000 presidential election recount dispute that allowed Republican George W Bush to win the presidency.

"Right now the results are unknown, as to who has won", he said.

Snipes has a history of being involved in controversial actions involving elections.

Mr Kemp now leads at 50.3% to Abrams' 48.7%, according to AP data, but it could take until next week to tally all the votes.
