Chelsea booked their place in the Last 32 of the Europa League on Thursday, with Olivier Giroud's header securing a decent 1-0 win for the Blues away to Belarusian side BATE Borisov.

'I think we could have done better.

In the other Group L match, Vidi FC also managed a 1-0 victory over PAOK to rank second on the log with six points - six behind table toppers Chelsea.

"Today I was in trouble, too. We didn't play very well", Sarri added. "I don't know if I am improving or if it is only the temperature". I didn't like the first half.

Sarri remarked afterwards: "I think we didn't play very well, I didn't like the first half because we moved the ball only horizontally and slowly, so it was hard to be unsafe".

Olivier Giroud broke his goal-scoring duck after netting the victor in Minsk but Morata has been in fine form of late having scored four goals in his last four Premier League games so he's favourite to lead the line up front on Sunday.

BATE nearly snatched a leveller in the third minute of added-on time, but Baha's 20-yard volley struck the post before Chelsea frantically cleared the ball away from danger and saw out the remaining seconds for their fourth successive win of the group.

As the game clicked into the 51st minute, Hazard was fouled and sent the resulting free-kick soaring out of play beyond the far post.

"I was hoping to score soon because I came back late from the World Cup and I was lacking maybe a bit of efficiency and luck but you always need to keep working hard and keep the faith and that's what happened tonight", France striker Giroud told BT Sport.

"I'm pleased for him".

"The first two away we played with 10 players and nearly won".

'But I don't want him to be anxious about scoring because, for us, he's very important and very useful. But, I don't want him to be anxious about scoring, because for us he's very important, very useful'.
