Nicole - who is a Catholic, and stated after her divorce from Tom in 2001 that she didn't want her children to be raised as Scientologists - said: "They are adults".

"I'm very private about all that", Kidman said of her family life, including the two daughters she has with husband Keith Urban: Sunday and Faith. "They have made choices to be Scientologists and as a mother, it's my job to love them", she said.

'I am an example of that tolerance, and that's what I believe-that no matter what your child does, the child has love and has to know that there's available love and I am open here. "I have to protect all those relationships" she explained. She recently revealed they, as well as Isabella and Connor, motivate everything she does telling Entertainment Tonight: "I think everything is motivated by wanting to take care of your children and carve a path for them and leave them with a sense of morality, dignity and accountability".

While they were married, the 51-year-old actress and 56-year-old actor adopted daughter Isabella Cruise, now 25, and son Connor Cruise, now 23.

Former Scientologist Leah Remini suggested Nicole had been made a Supressive Person - a term reportedly given to former members of the church of Scientolog, generally indicating they've been "cut off" from their family - in her book Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology, though the claims were later denied. Ultimately, whether Kidman agrees with their beliefs or not, she chooses to love them regardless.

You have to defend deep and well, defend crosses well because they are so strong and better than us at set-pieces. Yet they have also fallen into the habit of going behind in matches.

"It's very exciting", Kidman said. "She left and she's okay".

Kidman did not attend Isabella's wedding in 2015.

This year Kidman has been uncharacteristically open about her "past life" with Cruise in several interviews - just last month she described herself as being "cocooned" during their marriage. "This movie is a love letter to my children", she told Town & Country magazine.

"Being married to Tom Cruise at 22 is something I'm always reluctant to talk about, because I'm married now to the man who is my great love [Keith Urban], and it nearly feels disrespectful", she explained. "So when I came out of it at 32, 33, it's nearly like I had to grow up".

"I'm very private about all that".
