CCTV footage obtained by The Sun showed numerous club's senior players inhaling balloons of the gas (also known as "hippy crack") during a party which took place ahead of the start of the season.

Alexandre Lacazette, Matteo Guendouzi, Sead Kolasinac, Mesut Ozil and Pierre- Emerick Aubameyang are those featured in the video that has been published by The Sun.

Gunners stars Henrikh Mkhitaryan, 29, and Shkodran Mustafi, 26, are also apparently in the footage but are not seen with the balloons.

An Arsenal spokesperson told the BBC players would be "spoken to and reminded of their responsibilities".

The incident took place in August, just before the start of the season, when a number of the London club's squad members enjoyed a night out at Tape Club.

Nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas or "hippy crack", is freely available, although it is technically illegal to sell it for recreational purposes.

Arsenal began the season with two defeats but have been in excellent form under new manager Unai Emery since.

Several players even appeared to lose consciousness after inhaling the gas.

Other players such as Raheem Sterling and Kyle Walker have been seen using the gas in the past, with the City fullback apologising for using the substance back in 2013.

The Gunners are now on an unbeaten run of 20 straight matches following their 2-2 draw with Manchester United midweek.
