Flags at half-staff for former President

In College Station, students gathered Friday night at The Bush School of Government and Public Service to remember and honor the former president.

In light of the former president's passing on Friday, a local man shared his story of driving in George H.W. Bush's motorcade when he visited San Diego. He says he drove three times with Bush.

Michael Pallamary was an active politician during the time Bush was president.

"We will be spending three days of mourning and three days celebrating a really great man's life".

Ryan recognized the late president on Saturday, along with several other prominent lawmakers and presidents.

Bush will be buried next to his wife and former first lady Barbara Bush, who died in April, and his daughter Pauline Robinson "Robin" Bush, who died in 1953 at just 3 years old.

An arrival ceremony involving both the House and Senate will be held at 4:45 p.m. ET on Monday at the US Capitol, where Bush will lie in state in the rotunda until Wednesday morning. They'll then go back to Joint Base Andrews, with a destination set for Texas, the news release said. The remains will be transported by funeral vehicle (train) to College Station.
