Real Madrid coach Santi Solari was guarded in his praise for Isco after the Spain worldwide marked a rare start with two goals in his team's 6-1 stroll past third tier Melilla in the Copa del Rey at the Bernabeu on Thursday afternoon.

Last month's 4-0 first leg win in the Spanish enclave on the north African coast got Santiago Solari's reign as caretaker coach off to a positive start.

The two sides meet again at the Bernabeu Stadium on Thursday and Solari has since been appointed as Julen Lopetegui's permanent replacement. There are 24 players in the squad, plus those who are at Castilla.

However, Solari moved swiftly to keep feet firmly on the ground with league games against Huesca and Rayo Vallecano to come either side of CSKA Moscow's Champions League trip to Madrid before he and his players head for the United Arab Emirates later this month.

"The first leg was very good because we put in a very good performance with a good attitude and intensity, against a team that play very good football and are top of their group in Segunda B", Solari said.

Global stocks dive on growth concerns, doubts over trade truce
Trump's comments , alongside the drop in USA stocks and bond yields, took Asian shares outside Japan 1.5 per cent lower. Most economists are forecasting the US economy will continue to grow in 2019, though at a slower pace than this year.

Having left the newly-crowned Ballon d'Or victor Luka Modric out of the 18, Solari had to be patient and it was not until the 33rd minute that the La Liga giants got their noses in front when Asensio ran on to full-back Dani Carvajal's ball and fired into the bottom corner of Pedro Luis' goal.

"It's Modric's year", Solari added.

"It was Luka's year, and the focus should be on him", the coach said.

"It comes in a period of maturity in his career, which makes it even nicer because he appreciates it's true value". It seems to me that at that age it's more lovely because he can truly value it.

"I'm also very happy for Asensio, who scored two goals, and for Vinicius, who did another".
