The Game Awards 2018: A New Dragon Age Game Is Teased

A new BioWare project, which we're fairly sure is a new Dragon Age game, was teased at this year's Game Awards. Following the Trespasser DLC, a familiar question that was once posed to our Inquitior was framed once more after a shocking throwback to the red lyrium idol seen in the Deep Roads from Dragon Age II.

The trailer ends with the tagline #TheDreadWolfRises, but beyond what that implies it doesn't really say anything else about the game.

We still have no idea when this new Dragon Age will release or what platforms it will come to so the only conclusion that can be drawn from this announcement is that we at least now know there is a Dragon Age game in the pipeline. I'm sure there are plenty of hints that a lapsed DA player like myself glossed over.

Bioware is hard at work in completing Anthem, releasing for Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC on February 22nd, 2019.

With an impressive group working on the title, we should be in for another "Game of the Year" worthy Dragon Age Game. Anthem does look good - we were generally impressed when we played it back in August - but publisher EA has made little effort to publicise it so far, despite the fact that it's out on February 22. "Now, I'm honored and excited to continue BioWare's rich legacy of colorful companions, romance and epic choices in my favorite fantasy franchise".

Dragon Age 4, or whatever it's called, won't be out for aaages.
