Arsenal may seek loan deals in January, says Emery

It's unbelievable that the Gunners can only afford to loan players during this transfer window considering the size and revenue of the club.

Another of Emery's former players, Sevilla's Ever Banega, has also been linked with a move to the Emirates.

"We can't sign with payment, we can only loan players in this window", Emery told a press conference ahead of the game against West Ham United. But at the moment I don't have news on that. Only loan players. I can say to you that the club is working, the club is telling me the different situations in each moment.

Emery was also asked about rumours Arsenal are interested in Denis Suarez, with the midfielder on the fringes at Barcelona.

The Gunners signed Bernd Leno, Stephan Lichtsteiner, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi in the summer at a cost of over £70million - but Emery conceded the winter window will be much more frugal from Arsenal.

When asked whether he would give players a break or make changes to his training regime, Emery answered: 'We are doing that.

Arsenal travel to West Ham on Saturday before hosting Chelsea, the Blues occupying fourth place in the table, in a Premier League London derby next weekend.

"I know the club is working on possibilities of which players can help us with big performances like we need now".

"We both spoke about the situation with respect from him and from us".

Emery added: "We are working with the players who are with us now".

'Little by little Koscielny is feeling better and he can play consistently in the next matches, but I think he is getting better. This training session is important [to work out who can play]. Shkodran Mustafi and Konstantinos Mavropanos are all back in full training and under consideration for the weekend.
