The Blues splashed major cash on Christian Pulisic for a summer arrival, and it is risky to expect Malcom to return to his exceptional Ligue 1 ways via a third league in less than a year.

But reports claim Barcelona have upped their interest in Willian, and are prepared to offer a tasty deal this month.

The LaLiga club proposed a £50million deal which would see Malcom, whom they bought from Bordeaux for £38m last summer, going the other way.

Malcom has struggled since joining the Catalan giants, which has in turn affected his game time and the 21-year-old winger is also supposedly looking for a move away from Barcelona.

The Catalan outfit have been long-time admirers of the tricky Brazilian, who was linked with a move to the Nou Camp in both January and summer of past year.

But, Chelsea have swiftly rejected Barcelona's offer for a couple of reasons.

"Even though Willian has just turned 30 and only has 18 months left on his current contract, Chelsea value him higher than the proposal that was put to them by Barcelona representatives on Thursday", wrote Burt.

For one, the Blues would have a direct replacement in attack for the experienced winger, with Malcom possibly being a long-term solution for them.

There were series of drama between the Premier League club, the La Liga side as well as Willian, who was believed to have been planning a move behind the scenes to Spain.
