Patterson is now being held in the Barron County Jail.

The circumstances of the transfer weren't clear.

Child safety advocate Elizabeth Smart, who as a young teen was abducted and held for nine months, says the one piece of advice she'd offer 13-year-old Jayme Closs, the Wisconsin eighth-grader who endured 88 days in captivity by a man who allegedly killed her parents, would be to try to "create a new normal". Jail records don't list an attorney for him.

Investigators believe Patterson broke into James and Denise Closs' home near Barron on October 15, killed the couple and abducted their daughter.

It's unclear how Patterson became aware of Jayme, and authorities have found no evidence of any interactions between them. But there was still no sign of her, until Nutter, who was walking her dog, came across the teenager last Thursday.

Robert was the first family member to see Jayme and recalled giving her a big hug.

Kasinkas called 911, and eventually Nutter spoke to the dispatcher.

After murdering both her parents it is believed Mr Patterson then abducted Jayme and took her to his home about 120km away in Gordon.

Sheriff Fitzgerald said that the case was still very active and that he could not share details of what Patterson had told authorities.

Her aunt said Jayme slept well.

Of course, I've seen Andy struggling you know with his hip and with his fitness for quite some time now. "That won't happen now". Again, look, I'm playing tomorrow. "I guess everybody can understand where he comes from".

Almost three years ago, Patterson worked for one day at the same meat products facility where Jayme's parents worked - the Jennie-O Turkey Store plant in Barron - the company's president said. She begged the woman for help, saying Patterson had been hiding her in a nearby cabin and that she had escaped when he left her alone.

Nutter objected to a media report that described Jayme as being "dirty", but she said the girl clearly wasn't appropriately dressed for being outside and was obviously in distress.

As Jayme Closs starts her road to recovery following her kidnapping, investigators are trying to piece together what happened during the almost three months she was in captivity.

"All I know is that she was able to get out of that house and get help and the people recognized her as Jayme Closs right away", Fitzgerald said over the weekend. Fearful the kidnapper may be looking for Jayme, she told her partner to get a gun as he called 911.

Patterson was arrested the day after Closs escaped. "Ultimately it comes down to the decisions and the choices that you make that define who you are", she said.

He has no criminal history in Wisconsin.

Jayme, 13, had vanished after her parents were found dead more than two months ago, the neighbor told Kasinkas.

There will not be a plea in court Monday, according to Patterson's attorneys.

Charging documents could shed more light on the case.

"Now it's about getting him the harshest sentence possible", Jayme's aunt Kelly Engelhart said.
