Winter Weather Advisory in effect; expect heavy snow in Chicago-area counties

Motorists are urged to plan travel around winter weather and avoid unnecessary travel during the storm.

Later in the day Sunday, parts of the area could see more of a wintry mix that could cause totals and ground conditions to change.

This might not come as welcome news if you are among those visiting from Los Angeles: The forecast calls for bitter cold, with the possibility of snow on the horizon.

For the areas surrounding NYC other than an outside chance for some snow showers that leave a coating the Weather Service has opted for a near zero approach.

We'll see a mixture of clouds and sunshine the first half of the week with temperatures very seasonable for this time of year reaching the mid-30s for highs.

For instance, there is black exterior trim and new 22 inch rims along with white leather and yellow contrast stitching. The design is pretty much what you'd expect from an LC without a roof, meaning it's still painfully pretty.


Durham, Orange and Chatham counties are under the advisory, although little snow is expected to accumulate.

Another wave of cool air arrives midweek knocking our high temperatures back to around 30 degrees on Wednesday and the mid 30s on Thursday. Following a fairly blustery and mild weekend Monday afternoon will see lighter winds.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 39.

Sunday Night: Cloudy. Lows in the low to mid 20s. A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for our southern counties along the PA-MD border through 7 PM this evening.
