The figures make George and Westbrook the first teammates in National Basketball Association history to record triple-doubles in the same game with both players scoring at least 20 points in the process.

Russell Westbrook and Paul George made National Basketball Association history on Monday night, as they both recorded triple-doubles in Oklahoma City's win over the Portland Trail Blazers.

On setting the new National Basketball Association record Westbrook thanked his team-mates and God for his achievement.

George's three-pointer with 3:52 remaining put his teammate and "brother" Westbrook over the top in the record books, breaking Wilt Chamberlain's 51-year-old record as he recorded his 10th-consecutive triple-double.

"I thought he had it already", George joked. With 45 points against James Harden and the Houston Rockets on Saturday, George has scored 92 points in his past two tilts. If the Thunder get high-level play from their two All-Stars they should be able to walk away with a win.

As for whether or not Westbrook felt any pressure to help George in that spot?

NYPD detective killed, sergeant wounded in shooting in Queens
The detective and sergeant fired, and as they were leaving the store, the detective was apparently shot by uniformed officers. O'Neill said a sergeant, who has been on the force for 8 and a half years, was also wounded and is in stable condition.

"We talked about it right before that play, we talked about it", George said.

"To go out an compete, we are truly thankful to the man above for blessing me and going out and playing the game I love". Three minutes later with less than a minute remaining, George found Russ for a deep trey to complete his first triple-double in OKC colors. "But [Westbrook] told the situation, so it was cool to be on the other end of the triple-double". Oscar Robertson is the only other player in league history to have averaged a triple-double throughout a season.

"Nah, no pressure", Westbrook said of paying off George's pass to get him the triple-double.

George has been on his own tear as of late, averaging 39.7 points per game in February. "Just felt fantastic. The energy was awesome". "I think a lot of the things he does that he gets attention for in terms of the triple-doubles are things that impact winning for our team".

During Westbrook's streak, the Thunder are 9-1, and he is averaging 19.7 points, 13.2 rebounds and 13.8 assists per game.
